When you donate to the ReStore, you are helping Habitat build decent, affordable homes in Pitt County.
Habitat for Humanity of Pitt County Restore accepts donations of gently worn, usable, structurally-sound building materials, appliances, and furniture. In order to better serve our customers, we do have specific criteria for acceptable goods. All donations are tax-deductible to the full extent allowed by the law. Please follow the general guidelines below. If you are unsure if your donation meets the criteria or to schedule a large donation pickup, please call 252-329-8364.

Items we Accept
Appliances
Must be working, with all knobs
- Electric ovens (no Gas)
- Range hoods
- Range tops
- Refrigerators/Freezers
- Washers/Dryers (no gas dryers)
- HVAC units, 5 years old or newer
Please note due to new EPA regulations, we cannot accept dishwashers or certain refrigerators unless they are certified lead free. See http://water.epa.gov/drink/info/lead/upload/epa815s13001.pdf for more information.
Doors
- Entryway units
- Exterior or interior – no rot, cracks, or missing panes
- Pre-hung or door slabs, no taller than 84”
Flooring
- Hardwood/Parquet flooring
- Carpet and Rugs 10’x10’ or larger
- New padding
- Vinyl tiles or vinyl sheets
- Slate, marble and ceramic tile
Hardware
- Complete sets of door hardware
- Any quantity of hinges, nails, screws, hangers, etc.
Lumber
- Dimensional, 6’ or longer
- Trim and molding, 6’ or longer
- Sheetrock and plywood, 4’ x 8’ or larger
- No scrap lumber, no materials with nails, no concrete on wood
Paint and Wall Coverings
- Latex paint only, full, unopened and non-rusted
- Wallpaper, borders, tools, and glue
Architectural Items
- Antique items
- Columns
- Mantels
- Porch posts
Cabintery
- Full kitchen and bathroom sets
- Individual pieces
- Counter tops
Furniture
- Bedroom furniture
- Book shelves, case goods
- Tables, chairs, coffee tables, entertainment centers
- Couches, love seats and ottomans- GENTLY USED
- Patio furniture
- Pianos may be picked up if volunteer staff avalialbe
Lightning
- Fixtures and ceiling fans in good condition, complete and in working order
- No fluorescent lights or can lights
Tools
- Garden tools in working order
- Hand tools and power tools, in working order
- Working lawnmowers
Plumbing
- Bathtubs and shower enclosures – fiberglass, claw-foot, steel, space permitting
- Sinks – kitchen and bath, without rust or cracks
- Toilets – residential only, must be less than 1.6 gpf
- Miscellaneous plumbing hardware, fittings, pipes
Windows
- Shutters and blinds
- Windows – double-hung, picture, or bay – complete, without rot, cracks, or foggy glass
- No sashes, single pane or storm windows
- No commercial items
